Stamford Plaza VIP Melbourne Cup 2016

Stamford Plaza Auckland hosted the 2016 Melbourne Cup in their ballroom in true style. Guests donning fascniators and high fashion enjoyed a Red Carpet arrival including Mumm champagne and Eye Magazine gift bags to the value of $1000. A fashion show was followed by prizes for Best Dressed Man and Best Dressed Woman. Guests enjoyed a decadent 4 course meal accompanied by more Mumm champagne and placed bets at the on-site TAB with a DJ mixing background music to set the mood – elegance, decadence, fun and celebration. Celebrations may or may not have continued after watching the race live on the big screen depending on how bets were placed but one thing is certain – this experience was the next best thing to being at the races in person on the day.
